Is the crypto market broken?


Bitcoin’s halving usually sets the stage for a major bull run and market participants anticipated a rally by 2025. As expected, the Bitcoin price surged, though many experts state the rally isn’t over yet. Bitcoin has found strong support around $90,000, and doesn’t dip below this level. Institutional inflows into Bitcoin ETFs have strengthened its position as a store of value. The real question now is: how high can it go? But what is more important, will it rise at all? 


The cryptocurrency market is in turmoil. Traders are navigating one of the most turbulent periods in recent history, and try to make sense of market movements that seem to defy logic. Even seasoned professionals are perplexed. Once-reliable patterns have broken, and optimism from top officials no longer triggers the expected rallies.


Take Bitcoin, for instance. When White House Crypto Advisor David Sacks declared that Bitcoin would be a strategic reserve asset, then called it an excellent store of value and a national priority, the market barely reacted. Similarly, SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce announced a shift in regulatory policy and suggested that the Commission might adopt a more flexible approach toward crypto assets.


Under normal circumstances, such announcements would fuel a market surge. Yet, this time? Nothing.  Experts are puzzled. They say that the market's once-predictable patterns seem broken. Traders don’t feel stability. Even the pro-Bitcoin stance of the U.S. President can’t reverse this trend. Actually, his political unpredictability undermines his crypto-friendly rhetoric. In the opinion of seasoned traders, the situation is fully irrational and the main crypto is undervalued by $50,000–$100,000, to say nothing about Ethereum, which continues to underperform dramatically. Despite strong fundamentals, its price remains far below expectations.


So, is the crypto market truly broken? Or is this just the calm before an unexpected storm?
